Prestige Preschool Academy Aurora in Aurora, Colorado

As a prior staff member, I do believe that my director Stephanie was unkind in the way she thought of other staff members who did not have children. I personally do not have children, so I was constantly compared to others that worked there - especially the director Stephanie. She constantly reminded me and other staff that we were not knowledgeable because we did not/do not have 8 children like her. (i.e. I could not work in a certain classroom because I don't have children to potty train) I was also given petty remarks by the director and heard in passing what she would say to other staff members (i.e. questions someones child mental health, degrading remarks about a child, and the ability of parents.) The director was insensitive to my requests to have help in the classroom as well. Other staff understood how challenging it can be to be alone with a group of kids at times. When I would ask for assistance, such as another teacher, or temporary help inside the classroom - she would not reciprocate. I was told that it was not necessary. Due to this, I worked by myself for 10 months. It certainly made my immune system lack more and end up in more time I spent out due to illness. She was still insensitive. Which was very saddening due to that I was the third longest person working there and she also asked me to work through pneumonia so she could feel confident her school was okay while she went on a trip to California. I was given a week off by the doctors orders and she asked me to come back within 3 days. I enjoyed my place of work, so I did it for the team. Still insensitive. A GOOD NOTE THOUGH - All the staff that support Stephanie, including myself, are the absolute backbone to the school. We all went above and beyond to be great care takers and teachers for the children who attended the school. I am very sad that Stephanie did not appreciate what I brought to the school and the Junior Preschool class. Many of the kids I worked with were starting to blossom in amazing preschoolers. She let me go due to a scheduling conflict because I needed a second job to support my family. She told me she could no long accommodate me and let me go without warning on April 2nd, 2018.
