CoraFaye's Cafe in Aurora, Colorado

I brought a long-time Denver/Aurora resident here who had not experienced CoraFay's Cafe previously. I had dined here twice in the past year. Very friendly wait staff and we spoke with Priscilla several times - was pretty quiet since it was between lunch and dinner. Food was plentiful and atmosphere was pleasant and Southern. We both had the catfish with sides of grits, black-eyed peas, collard greens, hush puppies, corn bread, sweet tea and ended with peach cobbler. We had food to take home because portions are generous. A couple minor annoyances: Our young woman waitress seemed distant and distracted and we had to ask a fellow gentleman waiter twice to ask our waitress for drink refills. He was very courteous and accommodating and just got the drinks for us himself. Our waitress would hurry by our table without even glancing our way. Staff should be instructed to keep an eye on customer drinks and offer refills rather than us having to ask another wait staff for help. I don't like to be constantly interrupted while dining, but I do think wait staff should be attentive and alert. My friend and I were seated near the "employee only" (kitchen) area and did not appreciate having to listen to a noisy radio. Next time I will definitely ask to be seated as far away from that area as possible. Overhead music would have been OK, but what we heard was just annoying noise. Not sure why we were directed to that particular table since there were only two other tables of diners when we arrived. Closer to kitchen so less walking for staff? I recommend CoraFaye's for casual dining. Come hungry!
