In Fort Collins, people who have been convicted of a felony are not allowed to run for or hold public office.  But that may soon change.  City Council voted unanimously Tuesday night to send the question to voters in November, asking them if they want someone convicted of a felony who isn't already prohibited by the state to be able to serve on council.  The council-initiated ballot question stems from a lawsuit by Colorado's branch of the American Civil Liberties Union against the city of Aurora in 2021.
